Chase Platinum Visa Review
We highly recommend the Chase Platinum Visa to consumers with average to good credit looking for a 12 month, zero percent balance transfer offer and a low regular APR and rewards program.
Chase Platinum Visa Fees and Interest Rates
There is no annual fee for this card, and you get a 0% introductory rate for up to 12 months. The length of your introductory period may vary depending on your credit history, with a minimum of three months for borrowers with the minimum accepted credit.
The regular APR is calculated as the prime rate plus 5.99%, 9.99%, or 14.99%, offering a highly competitive regular interest rate to card members with good credit.
Chase Platinum Visa Rewards
Many low APR/balance transfer cards do not offer good rewards programs, but the Chase Visa Platinum is an exception. Card members earn points for each dollar spent that can be either redeemed for cash or gift cards (similar to most rewards programs), redeemed for airline travel on any airline (similar to other travel rewards programs) or redeemed for reduced-mileage award tickets on Continental, United, or British Airways.
This little known benefit actually makes the Chase Platinum Visa one of the best cards for earning free travel on these three major airlines.
Chase Platinum Visa Credit Limits and Credit Requirements
The Chase Platinum Visa is generally marketed to borrowers with good credit (loosely defined as a FICO score above 700), but may be available to borrowers with average credit (sub-700 fico score). Borrowers with lower credit may be approved, but may receive a higher APR or shorter balance transfer period than advertised.
